I met Michael Brecker while he was on vacation in West Palm Beach in 1980. I had first heard him on Still Crazy After All These Years by Paul Simon. So I was a little star struck. But he was one of the most humble people I have ever met in my life. Delta City Blues is my favorite Michael moment. I love counterpoint and syncopation. Since I first heard he was sick, my heart broke. And since he's been gone, I can't watch these performances without getting tears in my eyes. But they are his legacy and a wonderful way to preserve his memory. Heaven's a better place with you in the Sax Section Michael, my friend.
